My boyfriend found a 2 week old kitten under his porch. It’s grey and black and has a very small tail like a bobcat would. I really want it but I can not have it if its a bobcat. And its only a maybe if its a pixie bob. Is there any way distinct charateristic of the two that you could know the difference? Or is it just a regular cat with a short tail?

The main distinction would be size. Pixie Bob’s are much smaller as kittens. Also their facial markings. This is a good image of a Bobcat kitten: http://www.dailypictures.info/free-pictures/1424/Bobcat%20Kittens.jpg
also depending on where you live their may not be bobcats in your area. And if its a bobcat kitten it might be terrified of you since wild bobcats are not used to human contact, so if the little kitten is friendly and doesnt seem scared, its probably just a pixie:
