I am working on a project. I would like to know, what native cat breeds come from Cambodia and what other breeds are commonly found there? I know there’s a native dog breed called the Cambodian Razorback. I am trying to find out about native cat breeds, and other cat breeds commonly found there. Please help and please list as many as you can. Thank you.

There are no Cambodian breeds that are recognized by international cat associations and I don’t think they really have a local cat fancy or strong tradition of cat breeding or effort to preserve any native breed, if there were anything considered like that.
Cats in Cambodia would be random-bred cats of the Southeast Asian type. single coated, modified wedge head shape, ( look at this lovely head and gorgeous coat http://goldtravels.tumblr.com/post/19172650583/cats-in-cambodia-love-me-its-like-they-know-that ) a great variety of colours and patterns like elsewhere. and sharing a border with Thailand, they probably have a few cats with the Siamese and Burmese coat patterns as well as the intermediate type that is called Tonkinese in the west.
And, like all over the region there are many cats with kinked / shortened tails.
The other countries in the region (or the whole world, frankly) do not seem to have anything like Thailand’s centuries’ old history of cat breeding documented in manuscripts dating from 1300s-1700s (the Ayutthaya Kingdom era) — btw there is at least one Khmer script version of the Tamra Maew ( Treatise on Cats) , the medieval -era manuscript about the Thai cats. Thailand gave the world the breeds Siamese, Burmese (which is really an old Thai breed , it is just called Burmese because the foundation cat for the breed in the USA was brought from Burma) and the Korat and Khao Manee..
At least the Burmese was named that in the West because of a real cat coming from there. but there are several cat breeds named for Asian locations that are not really from there, it’s just silly Western breeders who liked giving exotic Asian place names to new breeds they developed. Tonkinese (between Siamese & Burmese) is not from Vietnam, and Balinese and Javanese are not from Indonesia, they are both mostly Siamese, with the longhair gene probably having got into a few lines of Siamese as the result of crosses to Persians in the development of the colorpoint Persian or the Birman. Likewise Bombays are not from India, they’re Burmese x black American Shorthairs. But at least some of the Singapuras do descend from cats from Singapore.
Unfortunately there’s none i know of from Cambodia.
There may be some wealthy people there who have pedigree cats from other parts of the world, like Persians or Exotic Shorthairs ( shorthair Persian)
